My Molly Fish got Eaten or Disappeared

Tank Size: 29 Gallons

Inhabitants: Sunfish (3"), 5 Molly Fish, Swordtails, Guppies

Problem: All Molly Fish Disappeared

Reply from Kevin M.
You have to know that sunfish are going to eat all of those live bearers. Mollies and guppies are like the size of minnows and you darn well know that they ate them. It's even stupid of you to ask this problem question. That's like asking where the cow went with a hamburger in your hands. Where the heck did you get sunfish anyways? It's illegal to catch fish and put them in your tank you know right?!

Reply from Ricky D.
Just because he has sunfish doesn't mean that he went out to the river and caught them. You can contact bait shops and even DNR offices that are in charge of fry going into new lakes and they can get you some. What it comes down to is how invasive the fish actually is or could be to other areas of the world. The sunfish is already in such a variety that it wouldn't be a huge hassle. But if you asked to do a snakehead or some sort o carp that is invasive... then you might have some issues.

Types of Fertilizer for Plants and Differences

Many artificial fertilizers contain acids, such as sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, which tend to increase the acidity of the soil, reduce the soil's beneficial organism population and interfere with plant growth. Continued use of chemical fertilizer may destroy nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Furthermore, chemical fertilizers may affect plant health.

organic fertilizer such as manure adds nutrients to soil, increases soil organic matter, improves soil structure, improves water holding capacity, reduces soil crusting problems, reduces erosion from wind and water.

Improves water holding capacity and improves buffering capacity ag ainst fluctuations in pH levels.
Therefore the use of organic fertilizer will be the best choice for any gardening project, as well as more environment friendly.

Where the use of chemical fertilizer, will be more detrimental to your soil and not at all environment friendly.

Organic matter improves all soils. If the soil has too much clay the organic matter increases the drainage of the soil, so that it drains better, allowing more oxygen, and preventing water logging. The water is absorbed into the soil, and does not run off, preventing soil erosion. If the soil is too sandy.
The organic matter retains water in the soil, and stops the soil drying out, keeping the roots moist, and cutting down on watering. So organic matter makes all soils better!

Different Baits for Fishing Different Fish

Fishing is a fantastic pastime and sport that many enjoy all over the world. It’s a great excuse for experiencing the wonders of nature. It is a fantastic way to spend time with family and friends, and is also a great solitary activity. This article has some great ideas to get you started.

It is a good idea to have a scale with you whenever you go on a fishing trip. You never can tell when you’ll catch that rare trophy, so be sure to have a scale handy especially if you are practicing catch and release.

When you go fishing, make sure to take the basic essentials with you. These essentials depend largely upon the environment in which you will be fishing. You will need such items as sunglasses, sunblock, food, and water. If you will be well off the beaten path, also bring a compass and your cellphone.
If you are going fishing, remember you can’t catch fish if your line isn’t in the water.

It is amazing how much time your line can be out of the water, whether you are switching lures, sorting out your lines, or other actions. If you want the best chance of catching fish, keep your line in the water!

Remember to change the water in your bait often if you are not using an aerator to get oxygen in the water. Although you can fish with dead bait, live bait is better, and after all, that’s why you bought it! Even if you use an aerator, it’s a smart move to change your bait water at least twice a day.

Be sure to watch the fish’s movements closely when reeling it in. A jumping fish will not be as energetic once it rolls on its side from exhaustion. Now that your fish is exhausted, it will be easier to reel it in. Wait until you observe the fish rolling over on its side, and then begin to bring it in.

When catching perch try and attach about three hooks below your bobber or weight. Since perch stay in schools, you might catch a few fish at once. You can also implement this technique when fishing for bluegill as well.

There are times when you may have to release the fish you just caught. Make sure you know how to do this properly. Get your hands wet, then carefully undo the hook and separate it from the fish’s mouth. As soon as the fish hook is removed, return the fish to the water. If your hook is firmly lodged in your catch, simply cut the line close to the mouth.

People who drive around the locale on a regular basis can be a great resource for information on local fishing holes. Mail carriers, bus drivers and game wardens may be able to provide information to you. Never assume that you are welcome to fish in any lake, pond or river, and always seek permission beforehand.

Simple things such as keeping hydrated are vital to success. Carry plenty of water, and drink it all day long, even if you don’t think you’re that thirsty. You can become dehydrated fairly quickly without realizing it, causing you to become dizzy and threatening to make you lose your balance on the boat. You do not want to end up overboard. Water is actually a great defense from drowning.

Hopefully this article has given you some great tips so that your next fishing expedition can be more fruitful. This should only be the beginning, as there is such a wealth of information available that even the most seasoned angler can always learn something new.

Naples Floria Fishing Report, Sportsman

Hello fellow anglers! Here is what we are catching during the months of December, January, and February.

This time of year is our coldest, although it may not seem cold to our northern visitors. The air temperature is anywhere from the 40's - 50's in the morning to the 60's - low 70's in the afternoon. This keeps our water temperature down in the 50's and 60's. Many days will also be windy so we do most of our trips Inshore/Backwater.

Inshore/Backwater we are catching Pompano, Ladyfish, Trout, Jacks, and Bluefish mostly. Depending on the water temperature we may get Redfish, Snapper, and Snook. Snook season is closed though starting December 15th.

Offshore will produce fish if the seas our calm enough to get out. There will be big Redfish and Snook on some of the wrecks along with Black Drum, Snapper, and Sheepshead. Spanish Mackerel are usually a constant while fishing offshore. Most of our Offshore fishing will be inside 7 miles in 30' of water.

We look forward to fishing with you soon on a Naples Florida fishing charter!
